guided or unguided pit-launched Horizontal Auger Boring System

To guide the bore (at installation of pipes which requires high accuracy in line and grade) we developed a special guidance technology especially to use with our ABS line of drilling systems. Guided horizontal auger boring (also called „pilot tube microtunneling“) with steering head, pilot tubes,  theodolite/ camera and monitor is a three-step process:
First step is the guided installation of pilot tubes, at that spoil is displaced by a slant-faced steering head.
As second step follows the pipe installation (mostly a casing): from the  jacking frame a flight auger drilling system with drill head are drilled into the ground to install the product pipe or casing.To install pipes larger than 500 mm in diameter we developed a special hollow stem auger system.

Using this system our customers are able to overbore the pilot with the drill head and augers, precisely following the pilot string. At the end follows the installation of product pipes with simultaneous removal of casings.

All the ABS pilots are provided with special hex connectors, aligned to the max. torque of the machine it are used with.
